Name Thievery

Disclaimer: this post is completely sarcastic and the only reason I feel the freedom to write it is because I figure if Christie is married to Paul, she can handle a little sarcasm. :)

After practically 4 years of involvment in the Rock. I am no longer the only Christy! I realize this is kind of late in coming, as I have been sharing my name for almost a year, but seriously, I don't think some of you understand what an inconvience this is.

I can't just call someone up and say "Hey, it's Christy!" Because they don't know I'm saying Christy with a "y," they imediately think: "oh, Ch/Kristy/i/ie who?" And more likely when I calll Tim or someone from the Friley team, they think I'm Christie with an "ie"

And then there's always the frustrations of hearing my name and whirling around to find out who wants to talk to "popular me" :), only to find, I'm not popular - Christie Johnson is popular.

I understand that up to this point many of you feel that you can relate. But you can't! HAH! You see, Dan, and all of you others with popular names, you have unique last names that you can use to identify yourself. I, however, do not. My own sister stole my last name! And although Christie stole my name, I can relate to her on this topic - she's even worse off than I am. She has a husband AND a sister-in-law to share her name with!

So you see there's really no way around it. My name has been Thieved! I guess I'll just have to go back to the birth certificate! There's no Christine in the Rock yet, is there? And if so, at least I can look forward to Heaven when I'll have my own name!
